2. Overview
This website presents the book Between Chronos and Kairos. You can use it without registering or providing any personal details. Personal data is processed only as described below: when pages are delivered, when fonts are loaded, for audience measurement – only with your consent –, when you send a review and when you send me an email.
3. Hosting and delivery
The website is delivered through Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Every time a page is requested, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data, in particular your IP address, the date and time of access, the requested address, the previously visited page (referrer) and details about your browser and operating system. This is required to deliver the website and protect it against attacks.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is the secure and stable operation of the website. Cloudflare processes the data as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and has also concluded EU Standard Contractual Clauses. 4. Consent banner
On your first visit, a banner asks whether you allow cookies for audience measurement. Your choice is stored only in your browser (local storage, entry “ck-analytics-consent”) so that the banner does not reappear on every page. This entry is not sent to me or to anyone else.
The legal basis is Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (proof of consent). You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.
5. Audience measurement with Google Analytics
Only if you choose “Accept” in the banner do I use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Until you agree, Google Analytics is not loaded and no data is sent to Google.
After you consent, Google Analytics records how the website is used, for example the pages viewed, time spent, where the visit came from, approximate location (country, region), device type, browser and screen resolution. For this, the cookies “_ga” and “_ga_*” are set and kept for up to two years. Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses. I only receive aggregated statistics that do not identify you.
The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future via “Cookie settings”; the analytics cookies are then deleted.
Google processes the data as a processor. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Event data is kept by Google for no longer than 14 months. More information: policies.google.com/privacy
6. Google Fonts
The fonts on this website are loaded from servers of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (Google Fonts). Your browser sends your IP address to Google in the process; data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA (EU-US Data Privacy Framework). According to Google, the Google Fonts API does not set cookies and requests are not linked to other Google services.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is a consistent and readable presentation of the website. You can object to this processing (section 10) or block external fonts in your browser. More information: developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy
7. Links to bookshops and profiles
The website contains links to Amazon, Ridero, Litres, Ozon, Wildberries and LinkedIn. These are plain links: no data is sent to these providers when you visit this website. Only when you click a link are you taken to the provider’s site, where its own privacy policy applies.
8. Review form
On the reviews page you can send me a review or your own story. I process the text you enter, the language of the page and whether you allow the review to be published. Your name and email address are not requested. Your IP address is used only briefly to limit mass submissions and is not stored.
Abuse protection (Cloudflare Turnstile): To protect the form from bots and spam, I use Cloudflare Turnstile (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Turnstile is loaded only on the reviews page and evaluates technical signals such as IP address, browser identifier and connection characteristics to tell people from automated programs. This data is not used for advertising or tracking. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is protecting the form against abuse. Storage and moderation: Reviews are stored in a database at Cloudflare and moderated via Telegram. For this, their text, the language and your publication choice are sent to Telegram (Telegram Messenger Inc.; EU representative: European Data Protection Office, Brussels). Telegram is based outside the EU, and there is no EU Commission adequacy decision for this transfer. Your IP address is not sent to Telegram. More information: telegram.org/privacy
The legal basis for receiving, storing and reviewing submissions is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in feedback from readers). A review is published only if you ticked the corresponding box (consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time by email. Rejected reviews are deleted from the database automatically 30 days after the decision. Accepted reviews are kept for as long as they are published or needed for selection. If you would like your review deleted, email me and quote a sentence from it.
9. Contact by email
If you email me, I process your email address and the content of your message in order to reply. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries) or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry concerns a contract. My mailbox is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (Gmail). I delete your message once it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
10. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).
Right to object: where processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object to it at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

The authority responsible for me is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, www.lda.bayern.de.
